This year, just for the heck of it, I'm going to talk about how this character, whoever it ends up being (a student in the class?, the baby doll we call Gerty who speaks German and is 25 years old? a new character yet to be developed?) is SO proud to be wearing green because she usually forgets, strutting down the street showing people her green article of clothing.     Gist

    It's St. Patrick's Day and someone is wearing something green. Person B comes up and pinches them anyway. Person B can't see the green item because they are looking elsewhere...

    OR because the item is not typical "clothing" (e.g. Larry is wearing a green water bottle)

    Spanish Reading - En La Lavandería Con Nicky Jam

    Here are two versions of a reading that I did with my Spanish classes this week, based on the music video "Hasta el Amanecer" by Nicky Jam. The readings are pretty similar in general, but the second version includes more specific language that I included for my upper level students. (You'll notice I use Usted when addressing my lower level students and Tú with my upper level students.)

    The day before we read, we did a MovieTalk of the video. There are countless scenes to stop and discuss.

    There is silliness (Nicky Jam dancing and at times being kind of a creep) and suspense (What is he going to pull out of his pocket? What's going to happen when she touches the coins?) and some unanswered questions (Why was the woman's basket of clothes already in the laundromat when she arrived? Wha...
